Be Bulletproof
“If you remain bulletproof, you are inspiring others to be bulletproof”
What does it mean to be bulletproof? Being bulletproof does not mean that you should prevent actual bullets from a gun from hitting you or killing you! No, that is not what it means here. Yes, bulletproof does have a meaning like that, but when I am talking about being bulletproof here, that is not the meaning.
Being Bulletproof in a student’s life, means to stand up against the wrong. How do we know what is wrong? That is simple. When we were kids, we were taught what is good touch and bad touch. That is just one of the aspects of standing against wrong.
If someone does something wrong with you, you should be bulletproof, and don’t hide it from anyone. Tell your problem to an adult whom you trust. Don’t hide your feelings just because you think someone might make fun of you for being a coward. No, that is not right. Don’t be afraid of what people would say.
If someone shows hate towards you for a talent you have, then don’t just say ‘Ah! Who cares? Just ignore him/her.” You are suppose to tell this problem too to a trusted adult, and for sure they will help you.
Don’t lose hope if someone shows hate towards you, just go on and do your work, and believe me, you will succeed.
If you want a real life example of being bulletproof, then take my example for instance- When I was in Grade 5, I participated in Talent Contest held at my school. for Fusion Singing, i.e. Eastern singing and Western singing. Along with my group, I won first place! This was probably the first time I achieved something in the field of singing, but I started to believe in myself only in Grade 6, after the Golden Jubilee of our school, as mentioned in my previous articles. Anyways, in Grade 8, Talent Contest happened again, and this time too, I won first place with my group in Fusion Singing. By this time, every other house [I was Mars (Red), and the other houses of our school were Jupiter (Blue), Saturn (Yellow) and Neptune (Green)] started to believe that Mars house always won first place in Talent Contest. For Grade 5 and 6, Mars house won. For Grade 7 and 8, Mars house won too, and for Grade 9 and 10, again Mars house won. That is why, a few people from the other houses started to hate us for winning Talent Contest every single time. That is what we got to hear from our friends who were in the other houses’ groups. This year, when I am in Grade 9, currently Talent Contest is going on, and again I have participated in Fusion Singing with my group. I did not accept the hate from other students, just because we won, and I had the courage to participate in Talent Contest again this year, despite knowing that I may get hate again.
This was my example, of how I stood bulletproof. I wish, that all students who get depressed because of hate and other bad things happening to them, remain bulletproof, in order to be able to tolerate this hate towards them.
Being Bulletproof is an essential part of student life, because there is no student out there who will not face failure. Every student would, and in order to be able to face that failure, it is very important for him/her to be bulletproof.
